One of the perks of going to Florida (besides the amazing warm weather and being with my family) is the number of kosher restaurants that are located there. I have not eaten a good piece of meat in a restaurant since I was in Israel, so imagine my excitement when we went to Mozart Grille for lunch.

Mozart Grille is a Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food restaurant. It is inspired by the Israeli grill restaurants that also serve some American dishes like hamburgers and sliders.  The place is not fancy and has metal tables with booths and high stools. It is a very relax environment. The kitchen is open, so you can see it as soon as you walk into the restaurant.  We sat toward the back of the main room and eagerly waited for our food.

It serves small salads for appetizers, just like in Israel. I loved the pickled beets and the baba ganoush (eggplant cooked and mixed with tahini). We ordered a lot of food, and shared some of it. The shipudei bazar (meat skewers) were to die for. We requested  medium well, and although they were cooked more than I’d like, they were delicious. It was harder to chew, but the taste of the barbecue sauce and the smoke from the grill made them the perfect appetizer.

I ordered its schnitzel (fried chicken cutlet). I would choose a schnitzel with fries over any other plate of food when eating at a grill place. This plate comes with two big schnitzels and fries, although you can choose any other side to go with your order. The schnitzel was thin and crispy, but still juicy on the inside. The crust cooked until golden, but it didn’t feel oily at all. That’s just how I like it. The fries were extremely crispy as well and tasted delicious paired with the mayo-ketchup sauce I prepared.

The fajitas were delicious too, and I am extremely happy we chose to mix the meat and chicken ones. Both of them were cooked medium well; as I said, I like it when my meat is juicy. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, especially the onions. I only wish they were cooked longer to get more of the caramelized flavor.

We also ordered Mozart famous family sliders. It is a tower that comes with five mini hamburgers, French fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings. We were so hungry, that we ordered two of them! The hamburgers come deconstructed, the idea is for you to add the vegetables you want to your hamburger. When I am in Israel, I like to order my hamburger yabesh (dry in Hebrew) so it comes with no vegetables. I know, I am weird, but I like it with only the meat.

The food was so good, that I ended up eating both my schnitzels, one of the mini hamburgers, one fajita and a piece of the meat skewers.  I was so happy with my meal, that I am salivating as I write this article. Can I go back now, please?

Jewtina Tips: Although everything in the menu is delicious, order the family sliders!
