Located on the corner of Gordon and Ben Yehuda, Tamara offers one of the best frozen yogurts I have had the chance to try.
I know that is a pretty big statement. How could a small Tel Avivian location offer one of the best fro-yo this Jewtina has eaten? The thing is that I love the tarty flavor of my frozen yogurt, and I enjoy adding toppings to make it sweeter. Tamara never fails to serve a bowl full of flavors that will make you appreciate every bite you take, and I am not kidding here.
I usually order its original flavor with a lot of sweet toppings; as I said, the tartness mixed with the sweetness makes my taste buds very happy. This fro-yo makes me so happy, that I would walk over once a week just to indulge in it. I can’t say it enough, but Tamara was –and still is- one of my favorite midnight snacks. It actually became my go-to place for a girls’ talk with my friends.
I normally add white chocolate Mekupelet (Israeli chocolate), some dark chocolate covered cookies, and of course its hazelnut chocolate sauce. You can never go wrong with this combination! If I feel adventurous, I would add some rimonim (pomegranate), ananas (pineapple) or tamara (date), and replace the chocolate sauce with some honey.
Eating at this location is extra fun. The place is decorated with fresh fruit, a really cool painting, of a girl about to spoon her yogurt, and swings you can sit on while gulping down your dessert. Plus, you will always be greeted by Tamara’s welcoming staff.
If you are not a big fan of sweets, no worries! You have the option to eat a banana, açai or mango flavored yogurt with the toppings of your choice, as well as acai bowls, smoothies, and delicious popsicles. My favorite is Tamara’s salted caramel one!
